Local Bronx Author Hosts Free Community Story Time

On Saturday July 17th 2021 neighborhood children of the Hunts Point section of the Bronx received a sweet treat. Bristow Publishing author Leslie Dangerfiel, recipient of a City Artist Corps Grant hosted a free community story time to read her children’s book Fernando The Bodega Cat to a group of young children. The Hunts Point cafe The Boogie Down Grind graciously offered their venue to host the event, as they are always supportive of local creatives and emerging talent. The storytime was streamed live on Instagram for all to view and children who attended received a gift bag including coloring pages, crayons, and their very own copy of Fernando The Bodega Cat. One lucky little girl took home a curated Bodega Basket filled with an autographed book, a polished bodega cat, and bodega snacks.
